Our StoryTo advance students’ professional endeavors, the Oregon State Investment Group (OSIG) is asking for gifts toward its $15,500 goal to fund their annual trip to New York City. This trip is the hallmark of the OSIG program, providing high-performing OSIG members with opportunities to network and learn about a variety of financial careers.
It has become increasingly difficult for graduating students and alumni to gain access to opportunities for high-profile financial careers. This trip provides students with ways to network with recruiters and industry professionals to give them a better chance at landing a high-finance role. New York City remains to be the financial epicenter of the United States and, as such, is the perfect place for students to be exposed to potential career paths. When you give today, your gift will motivate students and expose them to a grand opportunity. Thank you! |
How this trip impacted our members
The New York trip allowed me to meet and learn from professionals within the financial industry. During the trip, I was able to bond with other group members while making great connections with OSIG alumni.” |
It helped me build connections and assisted me in realizing what I wanted to do as a career. I live in New York City now, and I don’t know if I would be [in New York City] if it weren’t for the trip.” |
Donor funding would be used to finance air travel, subway transportation, hotel costs, and partial support for meals for the trip. We based the $15,000 goal on the cost of the 2021 and 2022 trips to New York City. Currently, OSIG does not have the funding necessary to plan for a future New York City trip.
Since OSIG’s inception in 2007, distinguished OSIG members have gone on this annual trip, through support from our generous donors. By the end of 2017, the funding ran out. In 2018 and 2019, OSIG trips were temporarily supported by the College of Business and the Finance Program. Your gift would be used to ensure that future OSIG members can have the same opportunities as past OSIG members. |
